Abstract

The article discusses the key aspects of bilateral cooperation between Hungary and russia in the 21st century. It provides a detailed analysis of economic relations in areas such as energy, investments, trade, and scientific and technical cooperation. Special attention is given to the strategic importance of these relations in the context of changing international politics and challenges associated with global sanctions and energy transformations. The article also examines the political implications of bilateral ties, particularly Hungary's position within the European Union and its interactions with Russia amid diplomatic tensions. The research analyzes the nature of Hungarian-russian economic relations in the current stage. Trade and economic ties between Hungary and russia are dynamically developing, with key areas of cooperation including energy, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, the agricultural sector, aerospace, cultural initiatives, educational projects, sports links, and collaboration in science and technology. The study aims to identify the peculiarities of Hungarian-russian economic relations at the current stage. Theoretical generalization, abstract-logical, analysis and synthesis, comparison, and the systems approach method were used for conducting the research. The study found that the fuel and energy complex and nuclear power in Hungary are key aspects of cooperation between Hungary and russia. The conclusions from the analysis highlight the importance of further studying these relations to ensure a balance between economic interests and political stability at regional and global levels.
