NON-GOVERNMENTAL THINK TANKS OF UKRAINE: MODERN ASPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The article examines the evolution of non-governmental Ukrainian think tanks during the last decades. The role of these organizations in the transformational processes that took place in Ukraine and their important function in the formation of public policy are determined. The evolution of the activities of think tanks after the declaration of independence of Ukraine and the gradual transition of the organizations from the oppositional role to partners of the state after the Euromaidan events. The main challenges that have become key obstacles to the effectiveness of think tanks are: funding problems, staffing issues and communication gaps. New problems faced by think tanks after the full-scale Russian invasion were identified, including security challenges, physical and emotional exhaustion, and team retention. The authors show that despite all the difficulties, non-governmental think tanks made an important contribution to the transformational processes in Ukraine and predict that the importance of think tanks will grow. The purpose of the article is to determine some features of the development and management of non-governmental think tanks in general and in wartime conditions in particular. The research uses the methods of analyzing the stages of development of think tanks, identifying the challenges they faced and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of their activities. The obtained results emphasize the changes in the role of think tanks from oppositional to partner after Euromaidan and their active participation in resisting Russian aggression. Research on the search for key aspects that contribute to the success of the activities of non-governmental think tanks, as well as their role in supporting the democratic course and development of Ukraine. It is noted that the analysis of these processes is several both for the organizations themselves and for all interesting pages in the political and scientific community. Prospects for further research - the contribution of Ukrainian think tanks in two key directions - European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the recovery of the country.
