LIFE CYCLE OF TOURIST DESTINATIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

The effective management of the development of tourist destinations and the enhancement of the positive effects of their functioning depend on the understanding of the concept of the life cycle of tourist destinations. The purpose of this article is to analyze the concept of the life cycle of a tourist destination in relation to management processes. In the study, different methods are used, such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, classification, generalization and typification. The study presents a qualitative understanding of the category 'tourist destination' and its components. This study analyzes the components that can define the system's structure, including tourist attractions, services and connecting infrastructure, intermediaries and support services, and tourist products. It was determined that knowledge of management subjects is crucial, and the indicators responsible for changing the stage of the life cycle were identified. Among them, in the study highlighted the following: the level of tourist arrivals, the state of the environment, the state of tourist infrastructure, and the attitude of the local population to life within the tourist destination. At the same time, the study considers the influencing factors that can also cause the acceleration of the change in the life cycle stage of the tourist destination. Among them, we can highlight state and regional policy in the field of tourism, the presence of competition, the level of development of transport and service infrastructure. It was determined that the process of managing the development of a tourist destination in view of the life cycle is the consistent steps, which can be repeated cyclically at each stage. Different practical tools are used, depending on the stage of the life cycle. The practical significance of this study is that it can be used for an in-depth study of the concept of the life cycle of a tourist destination and serve as a basis for further scientific research on this topic.
