THE IMPACT OF PORNOGRAPHY ON PSYCHOSEXUAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEENAGERS

Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the influence of early exposure to pornography on the psychosexual development of adolescents, the formation of ideas about sexual life and the formation of sexual stereotypes. In particular, the specifics of modern porn, its differences from porn of previous years and the experience of intimate contact with a real partner are highlighted. The unique risks of modern porn and the nature of its influence on the brain and sexuality, which are in the process of formation in adolescence, are indicated. The peculiarities of the adolescent brain, its vulnerability to the action of excessively strong stimuli, which are able to form stable connections, which in the future can significantly affect the subject's sexual behavior, are outlined. It was determined that the experience of early acquaintance with porn, which is obtained long before gaining sexual experience with a real partner, tends to lead to the formation of a preference for watching porn over direct sexual contact with a person and to form pathological sexual stereotypes, which in turn can become the cause of sexual dysfunctions in the future. The article focuses on the fact that in the domestic scientific space there is a shortage of studies on the impact of pornography on the formation of sexuality of children, adolescents and young adults, as well as a lack of sufficient clinical studies on the impact of early viewing of extreme categories of porn on the formation of sexual stereotypes of the viewer with corresponding consequences for his sex life. The scientific research of Ukrainian scientists is mostly focused on elucidating this issue from the point of view of jurisprudence and sometimes history. This demonstrates the presence of significant gaps in the scientific discourse and determines the relevance of the chosen research topic. The author made a contribution to the study of the impact of modern porn content on the formation of sexuality in adolescence, indicated possible risks and consequences for sexuality in adult life.
