THE ROLE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN THE ELECTRICAL ENERGY BALANCE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article analyzes the role of renewable energy sources in the electricity balance of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to analyze the development of renewable energy sources in Ukraine as an important factor in increasing the energy efficiency of the Ukrainian economy, the basis of its energy independence. Legislative principles regarding the implementation of state policy in the field of alternative energy sources have been analyzed, namely the law "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Stimulation of Electricity Production from Alternative Energy Sources on a Market Basis", adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in December 2021, which was approved for implementation Directives RED II. It has been confirmed that during the years of independence in Ukraine, quite a lot has been done for the introduction of "green" energy. In 2021, Ukraine entered the top ten countries in the world in terms of the pace of development of green energy, and in 2020 it was the fifth among European countries in terms of the pace of development of solar energy. It is noted that in the spring of 2022, the Ministry of Energy Efficiency submitted for public discussion the developed project of the National Plan of Action for the Development of Renewable Energy for the Period Until 2030 (NAP VE 2030). equal to 27%". On the basis of the researched data, it was concluded that companies that generate "green" electricity experience serious difficulties because they are not paid for the products supplied, the reason for this is that the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has created such a regulatory and legal framework that directly leads to their collapse, and this can lead to the liquidation of the entire industry. It has been proven that Russia's war against Ukraine, which escalated on February 24 of this year, made significant changes in the implementation of the plan and caused huge losses to renewable energy generating facilities. A substantiated thesis that the further development of renewable energy sources is an extremely important factor in increasing the energy efficiency of the Ukrainian economy, the basis of its energy independence, which creates conditions for the political independence of the state.
