Abstract

The study examines the identity system of Ukrainian women who have experienced various life crises since 2022. It has been confirmed that the integrative approach, based on the theoretical principles of rational humanism, is productive in the study of identity through a combination of traditional nomothetic and modern narrative methods and allows us to identify essential properties and connections in the identity system of the individual, which demonstrate the potential for harmonising identity in conditions of life crises. Using a hierarchical regression model, the hypothesis was tested, in which the parameters of Narrative Identity, the author's questionnaire on the Dynamics of the Role Spectrum of Identity, and the non-standardised self-description "Who am I?" were predictors of Psychological Well-being, according to K. Riff. It was found that such a three-level identity model explains almost eighty percent of the total variance of Psychological Well-being. The greatest improvement in the model's predictive power occurs when the indicators of the Role Spectrum Dynamics questionnaire are included, with the Maturity and Adulthood parameters driving this. The general model best describes the Self-Acceptance scale in the Psychological Well-Being structure. No statistically significant relationship was found between the Number of Declared Types of Life Challenge (NDTLC) and the components of Psychological Well-Being, indicating the priority of internal identity resources over the subjective perception of the number of experienced stressful events.
