DYNAMICS OF STRUCTURAL DISTRIBUTION OF NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES IN THE CONSUMER SECTOR OF ECONOMY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article deals with the current state and trends of structural changes in the number of employees in the consumer sector of the Ukrainian economy. According to the results of the analysis, the following conclusions were made: the population of Ukraine for the period of 2013-2017 decreased by 6,51%; the share of the employed population of the working age in 2017 amounted to 36.38% of the total population of the country and for the period of 2013-2017 it decreased by 7.36%; the total number of employed workers in Ukraine for the period of 2010-2017 has decreased by 26.96%; the proportion of people over the age of 65 over the period under study increased by 6.40%, which indicates an increase in the number of people of retirement age. The unemployment rate for the period 2013-2017 grew by 29.92%. In Ukraine, the number of people is decreasing and the number of the employed population is decreasing more rapidly, indicating negative trends in employment in the Ukrainian economy. For the complex analysis of the dynamics of the number of employees in the spheres of activity in the consumer sector of the Ukrainian economy, the following spheres of the economy are allocated: wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities; temporary placement and organization of food; information and telecommunications; financial and insurance activities; real estate transactions; professional, scientific and technical activities; administrative and auxiliary services activities; education; health care and social assistance; art, sports, entertainment and recreation; provision of other types of services. In all spheres of economic activity in the consumer sector of Ukraine, for the period of 2010-2017, there is a decrease in the number of employees, except for the sphere of information and telecommunications, health care and provision of social assistance; art, sports, entertainment and recreation, where there was an increase in the number of employees. The reform of the Ukrainian economy in recent years did not stop the decline in the number of workers in various fields.
